Picasa is a free digital photo organizer and editor which has improved considerably since its first release. Although I expected better organization and searching capabilities from a Google product, Picasa is excellent for beginners and casual digital shooters who want to find all their pictures, sort them into albums, do quick edits, and share with friends and family. The viewer is nothing special, but it does the job. It gives you standard thumbnail view, along with a folders list along the side, and a larger preview window, plus a few functions for rotating images, viewing EXIF data and so on. The maximum thumbnail size is pretty small, and there does not seem to be any sorting options.
